TAKING CARE OF YOUR NEW BATTERY PACK
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Normally, a new battery pack comes in a very low charge condition and must be fully charged before use. Refer to the user manual of your portable electronic equipment for charging instructions.

A new battery pack needs to be fully charged and fully discharged or "cycled" as much as five times to condition them into performing at full capacity.

Your equipment may report a fully charge condition in as short as 10 to 15 minutes when the new battery pack is being charged for the first time. This is a normal phenomenon especially for Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) chemistries. When this happens, remove the battery pack and let it cool down for about fifteen minutes then repeat the charging procedure.

"Conditioning" (fully discharging and then fully charging) is necessary so as to maintain the optimum performance of a battery pack, and is recommended at least once a month particularly for Ni-Cad and Ni-MH batteries. Failure to do so could result in reduced charge capacity and can significantly shorten the battery pack’s useful life. Lithium Ion batteries do not require conditioning.

It is normal for a battery pack to get warm when charging and during use. However, if the battery pack gets excessive hot, there may be a problem with the portable electronic equipment’s charging circuit and should therefore be checked by a qualified technician.

Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused for long periods of time. This is normal particularly in the case of Ni-MH and Li-Ion chemistries. For best results, always store a battery pack fully charged. It should be removed from the equipment and kept in a cool, dry and clean place.

The amount of runtime a battery pack produces depends on the power requirements of components in your electronic equipment. This could be the hard drive setting, screen intensity and back-lighting on notebook computers, the liquid crystal display (LCD) screen and floodlight feature in a video camcorder, or the tri-mode communications network of a cellular phone. Always refer to your equipment’s user manual for power management settings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BATTERY DON’TS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rechargeable batteries contain a considerable amount of energy.

DO NOT leave on charge for extended periods.
DO NOT short circuit terminals.
DO NOT drop or mutilate.
DO NOT disassemble.
DO NOT place in fire or near sources of extreme heat.
DO NOT expose to moisture or rain.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BATTERY PACKS EXPLAINED
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In simplest terms, a rechargeable battery pack is a collection of one or more rechargeable cells, assembled together to provide power, measured in watts per hour (Whr), to a portable electronic device such as a camcorder or notebook computer.

The most common forms of rechargeable cells are the Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) and recently, the Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) chemistries. Each of these rechargeable technologies provides their own distinct advantages and disadvantages.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIFFERENT TYPES OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad)

Ni-Cad battery is the oldest of the rechargeable chemistries used in today's portable electronic industry. Its low cost and high discharge rate capability make it suitable for low cost electronic applications like games and toys as well as for high discharge applications such as cordless power tools. Its low energy density (power-to-weight ratio) makes it undesirable for use in equipment such as notebooks and cellular phones. Ni-Cad has a chemistry-related problem associated with it called Memory Effect, which limits the discharge capacity of the cell if not completely discharged during each use.

Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH)

Ni-MH is most commonly used in the cellular phone battery, camcorder battery, laptop battery and notebook battery. A relative of the Ni-Cad chemistry, it has improved performance in respect to the memory effect problem, increased capacity, and therefore a higher energy density than Ni-Cad. Operation of this chemistry at elevated temperatures decreases its cycle life or the number of times a cell can be charged and discharged.

Lithium-ion (Li-Ion)

The newest of the rechargeable chemistries, Li-Ion has been in mass production since 1995. With three times the voltage per cell as Nickel-based chemistries (3.6 V vs. 1.2 V), Li-Ion has a higher energy density and is therefore ideal for lightweight applications. It is currently the chemistry of choice for laptop battery, notebook battery, camcorder battery and cellular phone battery applications. Li-Ion battery has had a history of early production overheating related problems and is designed in a battery pack with a Pack Control Circuit (PCC) to protect the cells from abusive conditions such as current and voltage overcharging, high temperature, and over-discharge. The relatively high cost of Li-Ion cells combined with the need for circuitry makes the cost of Li-Ion battery packs higher than for other chemistries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEMORY EFFECT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ni-Cad batteries remember how much charge was released on previous discharges. It has a tendency to release the same amount of energy with every charge/discharge cycle. If a Ni-Cad battery is always partially discharged before recharging, the usable capacity of the battery will be reduced. The Ni-MH battery is also affected by memory effect but to a lesser degree. A periodic discharge to one volt per cell or "exercise" is essential for Ni-Cad cells to prevent the building-up of memory. "Conditioning" (fully discharging and then fully charging) a battery pack also helps minimizing memory effect. Batteries can be fully discharged by disconnecting the equipment from the AC power supply and letting the equipment run on battery power until it ceases to function. Conditioning the battery once a month will keep it performing at its optimum level for a long time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE PACK ASSEMBLY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The cells are assembled into a battery pack configuration to provide a required amount of voltage (V) and capacity (Amperes per hour - Ah) needed to operate the equipment. The cells are connected using metal strips called tabs. The number of cells needed and the size of these cells determine the size and shape of the pack. A wire lead or connector is then attached to the positive and negative terminals of the pack for connection to the electronic device. The pack can then be wrapped in heat-shrink plastic or encased in a hard plastic enclosure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SMART BATTERY AND FUEL GAUGING
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Increasingly, portable electronic equipment is becoming more complicated and power hungry. Also, users demand to know how much battery life is remaining during the use of the equipment. This has created a need for the inclusion of complex circuitry into the design and manufacture of today's battery packs (Fuel gauging is very common in the latest laptop battery, notebook battery and camcorder battery). Although it has caused an increase in the price of these battery packs, it has also improved the efficiency, prolonged the life and increased their user friendliness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
READING THE BATTERY SPECIFICATIONS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are two important figures to consider in reading and understanding a battery pack’s specifications. First is the voltage of the battery pack in terms of Volt or V. Second is the capacity rating in terms of Ampere-hours (Ah) or milliamp-hours (mAh: 1mAh=0.001Ah). The voltage of the new battery pack should always match the voltage of the original battery. The higher the Ah or mAh capacity rating of the battery pack means the longer runtime and does not mean incompatibilities. Most IBI battery packs have higher Ah or mAh readings than the original, yet are manufactured up to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IN-FLIGHT CHARGING
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More passenger airline companies are providing outlets or receptacles into which passengers can plug portable electronic equipment such as notebook computers and cellular phones for recharging during flight. Our industry trade associations like the Battery Association of Japan, European Portable Battery Association, Passenger Electronic Device Association and Portable Rechargeable Battery Association have taken into account that the recharging of batteries in portable equipment while on board aircraft is not recommended. Such practice should be deferred until appropriate technical safety standards are established and that such standards are fully implemented. Intelligent Batteries Inc. advocates and favors such position and does not recommend that any battery pack product be recharged through airline in-the-seat power sources.

[教學] 打造完美可隨意安裝的WinXP鏡像

Warning: The below article I extracted from some forum and I unable to guarantee the correctness of it. Please justify yourself.

用鼠標雙擊C:sysprepsysprep.exe文件,在警告窗口中點「確定」按鈕。

Make Your Windows Fast As Never Before

Make Your Windows Fast As Never Before

The followings article is extracted from internet which is useful to me. Maybe useful to you also.

    DISABLE INDEXING SERVICES

Indexing Services is a small little program that uses large amounts of RAM and can often make a computer endlessly loud and noisy. This system process indexes and updates lists of all the files that are on your computer. It does this so that when you do a search for something on your computer, it will search faster by scanning the index lists. If you don’t search your computer often, or even if you do search often, this system service is completely unnecessary. To disable do the following:

    1. Go to Start
    2. Click Settings
    3. Click Control Panel
    4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs
    5. Click the Add/Remove Window Components
    6. Uncheck the Indexing services
    7. Click Next

    OPTIMISE DISPLAY SETTINGS

Windows XP can look sexy but displaying all the visual items can waste system resources. To optimise:

    1.Go to Start
    2. Click Settings
    3. Click Control Panel
    4. Click System
    5. Click Advanced tab
    6. In the Performance tab click Settings
    7. Leave only the following ticked:
    - Show shadows under menus
    - Show shadows under mouse pointer
    - Show translucent selection rectangle
    - Use drop shadows for icons labels on the desktop
    - Use visual styles on windows and buttons

    DISABLE PERFORMANCE COUNTERS

Windows XP has a performance monitor utility which monitors several areas of your PC’s performance. These utilities take up system resources so disabling is a good idea.

    To disable:

    1. download and install the Extensible Performance Counter List
2.Then select each counter in turn in the ‘Extensible performance counters’ window and clear the ‘performance counters enabled’ checkbox at the bottom.button below.

    SPEEDUP FOLDER BROWSING

You may have noticed that everytime you open my computer to browse folders that there is a slight delay. This is because Windows XP automatically searches for network files and printers everytime you open Windows Explorer. To fix this and to increase browsing significantly:

    1. Open My Computer
    2. Click on Tools menu
    3. Click on Folder Options
    4. Click on the View tab.
    5. Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box
    6. Click Apply
    7. Click Ok
    8. Reboot your computer

    IMPROVE MEMORY USAGE

Cacheman Improves the performance of your computer by optimizing the disk cache, memory and a number of other settings.

    Once Installed:

1.Go to Show Wizard and select All
2.Run all the wizards by selecting Next or Finished until you are back to the main menu. Use the defaults unless you know exactly what you are doing.
    3.Exit and Save Cacheman
    4.Restart Windows

    OPTIMISE YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION

There are lots of ways to do this but by far the easiest is to run TCP/IP Optimizer.

    1. Download and install
    2. Click the General Settings tab and select your Connection Speed (Kbps)
    3. Click Network Adapter and choose the interface you use to connect to the Internet
    4. Check Optimal Settings then Apply
    5. Reboot

    OPTIMISE YOUR PAGEFILE

If you give your pagefile a fixed size it saves the operating system from needing to resize the page file.

    1. Right click on My Computer and select Properties
    2. Select the Advanced tab
    3. Under Performance choose the Settings button
    4. Select the Advanced tab again and under Virtual Memory select Change
    5. Highlight the drive containing your page file and make the initial Size of the file the same as the Maximum Size of the file.

Windows XP sizes the page file to about 1.5X the amount of actual physical memory by default. While this is good for systems with smaller amounts of memory (under 512MB) it is unlikely that a typical XP desktop system will ever need 1.5 X 512MB or more of virtual memory. If you have less than 512MB of memory, leave the page file at its default size. If you have 512MB or more, change the ratio to 1:1 page file size to physical memory size.

RUN BOOTVIS - IMPROVE BOOT TIMES

BootVis will significantly improve boot times

    1. Download and Run
    2. Select Trace
    3. Select Next Boot and Driver Trace
    4. A Trace Repetitions screen will appear, select Ok and Reboot
    5. Upon reboot, BootVis will automatically start, analyze and log your system’s boot process. When it’s done, in the menu go to Trace and select Optimize System
    6. Reboot.
    7. When your machine has rebooted wait until you see the Optimizing System box appear. Be patient and wait for the process to complete

    REMOVE THE DESKTOP PICTURE

Your desktop background consumes a fair amount of memory and can slow the loading time of your system. Removing it will improve performance.

    1. Right click on Desktop and select Properties
    2. Select the Desktop tab
    3. In the Background window select None
    4. Click Ok

    REMOVE FONTS FOR SPEED

Fonts, especially TrueType fonts, use quite a bit of system resources. For optimal performance, trim your fonts down to just those that you need to use on a daily basis and fonts that applications may require.

    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Open Fonts folder
    3. Move fonts you don’t need to a temporary directory (e.g. C:FONTBKUP?) just in case you need or want to bring a few of them back. The more fonts you uninstall, the more system resources you will gain.

    DISABLE UNNECESSARY SERVICES

Because Windows XP has to be all things to all people it has many services running that take up system resources that you will never need. Below is a list of services that can be disabled on most machines:

    Alerter
    Clipbook
    Computer Browser
    Distributed Link Tracking Client
    Fast User Switching
Help and Support - (If you use Windows Help and Support leave this enabled)
    Human Interface Access Devices
    Indexing Service
    IPSEC Services
    Messenger
Netmeeting Remote Desktop Sharing (disabled for extra security)
    Portable Media Serial Number
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager (disabled for extra security)
    Remote Procedure Call Locator
Remote Registry (disabled for extra security)
    Remote Registry Service
    Secondary Logon
Routing & Remote Access (disabled for extra security)
    Server
SSDP Discovery Service - (Unplug n’ Pray will disable this)
    Telnet
    TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
    Upload Manager
Universal Plug and Play Device Host
    Windows Time
Wireless Zero Configuration (Do not disable if you use a wireless network)
    Workstation
    To disable these services:

Go to Start and then Run and type “services.msc”
Doubleclick on the service you want to change
Change the startup type to ‘Disable”

    TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE

System Restore can be a useful if your computer is having problems, however storing all the restore points can literally take up Gigabytes of space on your hard drive. To turn off System Restore:

    Open Control Panel
    Click on Performance and Maintenance
    Click on System
Click on the System Restore tab
Tick ‘Turn off System Restore on All Drives’
    Click ‘Ok’

    DEFRAGMENT YOUR PAGEFILE

Keeping your pagefile defragmented can provide a major performance boost. One of the best ways of doing this is to creat a separate partition on your hard drive just for your page file, so that it doesn’t get impacted by normal disk usage. Another way of keeping your pagefile defragmented is to run PageDefrag. This cool little app can be used to defrag your pagefile, and can also be set to defrag the pagefile everytime your PC starts. To install:

    Download and Run PageDefrag
    Tick “Defrag at next Reboot”,
    Click “Ok”
    Reboot

SPEEDUP FOLDER ACCESS - DISABLE LAST ACCESS UPDATE

If you have a lot of folders and subdirectories on your computer, when you access a directory XP wastes a lot of time updating the time stamp showing the last access time for that directory and for ALL sub directories. To stop XP doing this you need to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this then please do not attempt.

Go to Start and then Run and type “regedit”
Click through the file system until you get to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlFileSystem”
Right-click in a blank area of the window on the right and select ‘DWORD Value’
Create a new DWORD Value called ‘NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate’
Then Right click on the new value and select ‘Modify’
Change the Value Data to ‘1′
    Click ‘OK’

    DISABLE SYSTEM SOUNDS

Surprisingly, the beeps that your computer makes for various system sounds can slow it down, particularly at startup and shut-down. To fix this turn off the system sounds:

    Open Control Panel
    Click Sounds and Audio Devices
Check Place volume icon in taskbar
    Click Sounds Tab
Choose “No Sounds” for the Sound Scheme
    Click “No”
    Click “Apply”
    Click “OK”

    IMPROVE BOOT TIMES

A great new feature in Microsoft Windows XP is the ability to do a boot defragment. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. By default this option in enables but on some builds it is not so below is how to turn it on.

Go to Start Menu and Click Run
Type in “Regedit” then click ok
    Find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftDfrgBootOpt imizeFunction”
Select “Enable” from the list on the right
Right on it and select “Modify”
Change the value to “Y to enable”
    Reboot

    IMPROVE SWAPFILE PERFORMANCE

If you have more than 256MB of RAM this tweak will considerably improve your performance. It basically makes sure that your PC uses every last drop of memory (faster than swap file) before it starts using the swap file.

    Go to Start then Run
    Type “msconfig.exe” then ok
    Click on the System.ini tab
Expand the 386enh tab by clicking on the plus sign
Click on new then in the blank box type”ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1″
    Click OK
    Restart PC

    MAKE YOUR MENUS LOAD FASTER

This is one of my favourite tweaks as it makes a huge difference to how fast your machine will ‘feel’. What this tweak does is remove the slight delay between clicking on a menu and XP displaying the menu.

    Go to Start then Run
    Type ‘Regedit’ then click ‘Ok’
    Find “HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop”
    Select “MenuShowDelay”
    Right click and select “Modify’
Reduce the number to around “100″
This is the delay time before a menu is opened. You can set it to “0″ but it can make windows really hard to use as menus will open if you just look at them - well move your mouse over them anyway. I tend to go for anywhere between 50-150 depending on my mood

    MAKE PROGRAMS LOAD FASTER

This little tweak tends to work for most programs. If your program doesn’t load properly just undo the change. For any program:

Right-click on the icon/shortcut you use to launch the program
    Select properties
In the ‘target’ box, add ‘ /prefetch:1′ at the end of the line.

Voila - your programs will now load faster.

    IMPROVE XP SHUTDOWN SPEED

This tweak reduces the time XP waits before automatically closing any running programs when you give it the command to shutdown.

Go to Start then select Run
    Type ‘Regedit’ and click ok
    Find ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop’
    Select ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’
    Right click and select ‘Modify’
    Change the value to ‘1000′
    Click ‘OK’
    Now select ‘HungAppTimeout’
    Right click and select ‘Modify’
    Change the value to ‘1000′
    Click ‘OK’
    Now find ‘HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelDesktop’
    Select ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’
    Right click and select ‘Modify’
    Change the value to ‘1000′
    Click ‘OK’
    Now find ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControl’
    Select ‘WaitToKillServiceTimeout’
    Right click and select ‘Modify’
    Change the value to ‘1000′
    Click ‘OK’

    SPEED UP BOOT TIMES I

This tweak works by creating a batch file to clear the temp and history folders everytime you shutdown so that your PC doesn’t waste time checking these folders the next time it boots. It’s quite simple to implement:

    1. Open Notepad and create a new file with the following entries:

    RD /S /q “C:Documents and Settings”UserName without quotes”Local SettingsHistory”
RD /S /q “C:Documents and SettingsDefault UserLocal SettingsHistory”
RD /S /q “D:Temp” FixMyXP. ClearMem Is an Excellent Tool for speeding up your XP Computer (especially if your system has been on for awhile and you have a lot of applications open). What it does, is it Forces pages out of physical memory and reduces the size of running processes if working sets to a minimum. When you run this tool, the system pauses because of excessive high-priority activity associated with trimming the working sets. To run this tool, your paging file must be at least as large as physical memory. To Check your Paging File:

    1. Go to your control panel, then click on ‘System’, then go to the ‘Advanced’ Tab, and Under ‘Performance’ click ‘Settings’ then the ‘Advanced’ Tab

    2. On the Bottom you should see ‘Virtual Memory’ and a value. This is the value that must be at least as large as how much memory is in your system.

    3. If the Virtual Memory Value is smaller than your system memory, click Change and change the Min Virtual Memory to a number that is greater than your total system memory, then click ‘Set’ and Reboot.

    4. Once you have rebooted install ClearMem

ENSURE XP IS USING DMA MODE

XP enables DMA for Hard-Drives and CD-Roms by default on most ATA or ATAPI (IDE) devices. However, sometimes computers switch to PIO mode which is slower for data transfer - a typical reason is because of a virus. To ensure that your machine is using DMA:

    1. Open ‘Device Manager’

    2. Double-click ‘IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers’

    3. Right-click ‘Primary Channel’ and select ‘Properties’ and then ‘Advanced Settings’

    4. In the ‘Current Transfer Mode’ drop-down box, select ‘DMA if Available’ if the current setting is ‘PIO Only’

    ADD CORRECT NETWORK CARD SETTINGS

Some machines suffer from jerky graphics or high CPU usage even when a machine is idle. A possible solution for this, which, can also can help network performance is to:

    1. RightClick ‘My Computer’

    2. Select ‘Manage’

    3. Click on ‘Device Manager’

    4. DoubleClick your network adaptor under ‘Network Adapters’

    5. In the new window, select the ‘Advanced’ tab

    6. Select ‘Connection Type’ and select the correct type for your card and then Reboot

    REMOVE ANNOYING DELETE CONFIRMATION MESSAGES

Although not strictly a performance tweak I love this fix as it makes my machine ‘feel’ faster. I hate the annoying ‘are you sure?’ messages that XP displays, especially if I have to use a laptop touchpad to close them. To remove these messages:

    1. Right-click on the ‘Recycle Bin’ on the desktop and then click ‘Properties’

    2. Clear the ‘Display Delete Confirmation Dialog’ check box and click ‘Ok’

If you do accidently delete a file don’t worry as all is not lost. Just go to your Recycle Bin and ‘Restore’ the file.

DISABLE PREFETCH ON LOW MEMORY SYSTEMS

Prefetch is designed to speed up program launching by preloading programs into memory - not a good idea is memory is in short supply, as it can make programs hang. To disable prefetch:

    1. Click ‘Start’ then ‘Run’

    2. Type in ‘Regedit’ then click ‘Ok’

    3. Navigate to ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory ManagementPrefetchParameters’

    4. Right-click on “EnablePrefetcher” and set the value to ‘0′

    5. Reboot.

Story of Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory

    Torrington Base
The assault carrier Albion arrives at an Earth Federation base in Torrington, Australia, bringing with it a pair of new Gundam mobile suits developed by the civilian company Anaheim Electronics. However, the Albion's arrival has been anticipated by renegade soldiers of the Principality of Zeon. Just after the Gundam GP02A is loaded with a live nuclear warhead from Torrington's arsenal, the Zeon ace pilot Anavel Gato seizes the mobile suit and flees the base.

A young test pilot named Kou Uraki takes the controls of the Gundam GP01 and sets out in pursuit of the stolen machine. With the help of his comrades South Burning and Chuck Keith, and the support of Anaheim engineer Nina Purpleton, Kou prevents Gato from escaping into space, only to see him make his getaway by sea instead.

    Pursuit
Kou and his friends are transferred to the Albion, which is now assigned to recapture the stolen Gundam and its devastating warhead. The ship makes its way to Eastern Africa, where Gato has made contact with a group of Zeon renegades whose HLV capsule can carry the Gundam GP02A into orbit. Gato's allies attack the Albion to buy time for his escape, forcing Kou and his comrades to continue their pursuit into space.

Gato returns to the Zeon renegades' hidden headquarters and presents the captured Gundam to rebel leader Aiguille Delaz. As Delaz broadcasts a declaration of war against the Earth Federation, the pursuing Albion is intercepted by the forces of Delaz's new ally, the sinister Cima Garahau. Kou ignores Nina's warnings and takes the improperly configured Gundam GP01 into space combat, where it is all but destroyed at Cima's hands.

    Von Braun City
The Albion retreats to the lunar city of Von Braun, where the wrecked Gundam GP01 is returned to Anaheim for repair and reconfiguration. Kou, humiliated by his defeat, leaves the ship and meets a gruff Zeon veteran named Kelly Layzner. After helping Kelly reconstruct his prize possession, a vintage mobile armor left over from the One Year War, Kou returns to the Albion with renewed confidence. But before he leaves the moon, Kou will meet Kelly again, and this time in battle.

    The Sea of Solomon
Having abandoned the hunt for the stolen Gundam, the Albion now makes its way to the asteroid base Konpeitoh (formerly known as Solomon). This is the headquarters of the Federation space fleet, which is gathering here for an upcoming naval review. Patrolling the area, the Albion interrupts a secret meeting between Cima's fleet and a Federation admiral, and Burning's mobile suit is fatally damaged in the ensuing skirmish.

The naval review begins, and the Delaz Fleet launches a full-scale attack on the Federation fleet. Meanwhile, Gato maneuvers the Gundam GP02A into position and launches its nuclear warhead into the heart of the fleet, destroying or disabling three-fifths of its vessels. In the aftermath, Kou intercepts Gato and the two rivals fight a fierce duel which ends in the destruction of both Gundams.

    Colonyjack
Far from the Sea of Solomon, Cima's fleet seizes a pair of space colonies which are being transferred between Sides. Colliding the two colonies together, they set one of them hurtling toward the the moon. Back at Konpeitoh, the remnants of the Federation fleet are hastily reorganized and dispatched in pursuit of the runaway colony.

The Albion proceeds to the Anaheim Electronics dock ship La Vie En Rose, where a final prototype Gundam is under development, only to find that the Gundam project is now under the control of a sinister new Federation faction. The Albion crew manage to escape with the Gundam GP03 - and not a moment too soon, for the runaway colony has now been redirected toward Earth, and Gato has received a powerful new mobile armor called the Neue Ziel with which to guard it.

    Operation Stardust
Escorted by Delaz's and Cima's fleets, the falling colony continues on its course toward Earth. Kou and the Albion strive to break through the enemy defenses and stop the colony, but they are unable to overcome Gato's Neue Ziel. And meanwhile, a Federation fleet controlled by a cabal of high-ranking conspirators gathers in Earth orbit to await the colony's arrival.

As the colony approaches the point of no return, a series of betrayals unfolds. Delaz finds that a trusted ally has turned on him, while the Albion crew realize that their Federation superiors are using Operation Stardust to advance their own ambitions. And Kou, who has grown to love Nina, learns that she shares a secret past with his most bitter enemy...

Gundam - Brief Summary Of The Story

    Gundam

    Brief Summary Of The Story

    Escape From Side 7
The assault carrier White Base arrives at the remote Side 7 space colony to collect the Earth Federation's new prototype mobile suits. However, the White Base has been detected by a Zeon cruiser commanded by the cunning Char Aznable, who sends a team of Zaku mobile suits into the colony. The attackers begin wiping out the Federation defenders, until a young civilian named Amuro Ray activates the prototype Gundam and destroys two of the Zakus.

With most of the Federation soldiers lost in the Zeon attack, a new White Base crew is hastily formed from cadets and civilian volunteers, among them a young woman named Sayla Mass and junior officer Bright Noa, who becomes the ship's acting captain. The White Base escapes Side 7, carrying with it the surviving prototype machines and a host of civilian refugees. The crew seek refuge at the Luna II base, but are instead ordered to continue on to the Federation's Jaburo headquarters in South America.

    North America
As the White Base enters the atmosphere, a surprise attack by Char drives the ship far off course, and it descends over Zeon territory in North America. Char contacts his old friend Garma Zabi, the youngest son of Zeon's ruling family and the nominal commander of its terrestrial forces, and the pair begin pursuing the Federation vessel across the continent. But during Garma's final attack, Char leads his friend right into the White Base's ambush.

Sovereign Degwin Zabi is devastated by the loss of his beloved son Garma, but his remaining children vary greatly in their reactions. Degwin's oldest son Gihren, supreme commander of the Zeon military, turns Garma's funeral into a propaganda rally. Younger son Dozle dispatches the ace pilot Ramba Ral to avenge Garma by hunting down the White Base. And Degwin's daughter Kycilia, learning that Char has been discharged for his failure to protect Garma, recruits him into her own service.

    Operation Odessa
Though the White Base has now escaped Zeon-controlled North America, its journey is far from over. The ship is ordered to continue west and join Operation Odessa, a major offensive in which Federation forces led by General Revil hope to capture Zeon's Central Asian resource mines. As the White Base makes its way towards Odessa, its crew must deal with both Ramba Ral's pursuit and the new threat of Zeon's elite Black Tri-Stars team, and many of their comrades fall in battle.

The Odessa campaign ends in victory for the Federation, and Zeon's terrestrial forces begin to collapse in its aftermath. The White Base resumes its westward journey, pausing at a Federation base in Belfast, Ireland where the crew are introduced to their patron General Revil. Here they also draw the attention of their old enemy Char, now the commander of a Zeon submarine squadron, who follows the ship as it continues on to Jaburo.

    Jaburo
At last the White Base arrives at Jaburo, the Federation Forces' underground headquarters in South America. Here the Federation has already begun production of mass-produced mobile suits based on the Gundam, and is preparing to launch a counteroffensive against Zeon's home territory in space. The White Base is assigned to take part in this new campaign.

Meanwhile, Char Aznable locates Jaburo's hidden entrances and summons an airborne force from North America to assault the Federation stronghold. The attack fails, and the rebuilt Federation fleet is then launched up into space, with the White Base acting as a decoy to divert the Zeon forces that wait in orbit.

    Encounters in Space
The White Base proceeds to the neutral colonies of Side 6, where Amuro meets a mysterious girl named Lalah Sune with whom he feels an instant rapport. The ship then continues on to rendezvous with the Federation space fleet for an attack on Zeon's Solomon space fortress. Solomon commander Dozle Zabi attacks the Federation fleet in a powerful new mobile armor, only to be defeated by Amuro's Gundam.

The Federation Forces occupy Solomon and turn it into a staging area for the next phase of their space offensive. The White Base is sent to patrol the perimeter, and encounters enemy forces at the abandoned Texas colony. Here Sayla confronts her long-lost brother Char, who has sworn to avenge their father, the true founder of the Zeon nation, by wiping out the usurping Zabi family.

    Operation Star One
The Federation armada gathers for Operation Star One, an attack on the space fortress A Baoa Qu that guards the Zeon homeland. But the fleet comes under attack from an experimental mobile armor controlled by a powerful Newtype. Its pilot is none other than Lalah, who, despite her psychic bond with Amuro, is prepared to sacrifice her own life for Char's sake.

Meanwhile, the war-weary Sovereign Degwin has decided to make peace with the Federation. But just as Degwin approaches General Revil's fleet, his scheming son Gihren targets them both with Zeon's ultimate weapon, a huge laser cannon called the Solar Ray. In the wake of this disaster, the White Base and the other remnants of the Federation fleet regroup for a desperate assault on A Baoa Qu. Here the surviving members of the Zabi family will make their final stand, and here Amuro and Char will face each other in battle one more time...

    wxWidgets

This is huge toolkit contains a lot of widgets for programme. I use it for write some tree notes programme.

wxWidgets lets developers create applications for Win32, Mac OS X, GTK+, X11, Motif, WinCE, and more using one codebase. It can be used from languages such as C++, Python, Perl, and C#/.NET. Unlike other cross-platform toolkits, wxWidgets applications look and feel native. This is because wxWidgets uses the platform's own native controls rather than emulating them. It's also extensive, free, open-source, and mature. Why not give it a try, like many others have?

    FOX GUI Toolkit

This another gui toolkit I used to write programme. The most time I spend on it among fltk, wxwidgets and fox. I have not use fox toolkit recently due to its poor support of chinese input.

FOX is a C++ based Toolkit for developing Graphical User Interfaces easily and effectively. It offers a wide, and growing, collection of Controls, and provides state of the art facilities such as drag and drop, selection, as well as OpenGL widgets for 3D graphical manipulation. FOX also implements icons, images, and user-convenience features such as status line help, and tooltips. Tooltips may even be used for 3D objects!

Considerable importance has been placed on making FOX one of the fastest toolkits around, and to minimize memory use:- FOX uses a number of techniques to speed up drawing and spatial layout of the GUI. Memory is conserved by allowing programmers to create and destroy GUI elements on the fly.

Even though FOX offers a large collection of Controls already, FOX leverages C++ to allow programmers to easily build additional Controls and GUI elements, simply by taking existing controls, and creating a derived class which simply adds or redefines the desired behavior.

One of the prime design goals of FOX is the ease of programming; thus, most controls can be created using a single line of C++ code; most parameters have sensible default values, so that they may be omitted, and layout managers ensure that designers of GUI's do not have to worry about precise alignments.

Another nice feature of FOX which significantly reduces the number of lines of code which have to be written is FOX's ability to have widgets connect to each other, and passing certain commands between them; for example, a menu entry Hide Toolbar can be directly connected to the Toolbar, and cause it to hide.

Finally, FOX makes it easy to maintain the state of the GUI in an application by having the GUI elements automatically updating themselves by interrogating the application's state. This feature eliminates the large amount of effort that may go into sensitizing, graying out, checking/unchecking etc. depending on the application state.

    FLTK-Fast Light Toolkit

The first GUI I used in programme. It's tiny and small made me easy write out a encoding programme for chinese input. But it is too simple for my advanced programming.

FLTK (pronounced "fulltick") is a cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit for UNIX®/Linux® (X11), Microsoft® Windows®, and MacOS® X. FLTK provides modern GUI functionality without the bloat and supports 3D graphics via OpenGL® and its built-in GLUT emulation.

FLTK is designed to be small and modular enough to be statically linked, but works fine as a shared library. FLTK also includes an excellent UI builder called FLUID that can be used to create applications in minutes.

FLTK is provided under the terms of the GNU Library Public License, Version 2 with exceptions that allow for static linking.

    CxImage

This is open source image library, in which I can learn a lot of skill about image programming. However, this library mainly depend on win32 api and not easy to make a portable applications from it.

    Overview
CxImage is a C++ class that can load, save, display, transform images in a very simple and fast way.

CxImage is open source and licensed under the zlib license. In a nutshell, this means that you can use the code however you wish, as long as you don't claim it as your own.

With more than 200 functions, and with comprehensive working demos, CxImage offers all the tools to build simple image processing applications on a fast learning curve. Supported file formats are: BMP, GIF, ICO, CUR, JBG, JPG, JPC, JP2, PCX, PGX, PNG, PNM, RAS, TGA, TIF, WBMP, WMF.

Cximage is highly portable and has been tested with Visual C++ 6 / 7, C++ Builder 3 / 6 on Windows, and with gcc 3.3.2 on Linux. It should compile without problems on C++ compilers that support exception handling. The library can be linked statically, or through a DLL or an activex component.

    C++ Template Image Processing Library

Recently, I look forwards to some image libraries to suit my programme development. The Cimg is one of image libraries that supports borland C complier fully. So I have no need to use the slow one - MinGW. ^_^

The CImg Library is an open source C++ toolkit for image processing : It provides simple classes and functions to load, save, process and display images in your own C++ code.
It is intended to be highly portable and fully works on different operating systems (Unix/X11, Windows, MacOS X, FreeBSD) with different C++ compilers. It should compile on other systems as well (eventually without display capabilities).
It consists only of a single header file CImg.h that must be included in your C++ program source.
It contains useful image processing algorithms for image loading/saving, displaying, resizing/rotating, filtering, object drawing (text, lines, faces, curves, ellipses, 3D objects, ..), etc...
The main image class can represent images up to 4-dimension wide (x,y,z,v) (from 1-D scalar signals to 3-D volumes of vector-valued pixels), with template pixel types.
It depends on a minimal number of libraries : you can compile it only with standard C++ libraries. No need for exotic libraries and complex dependencies.
Additional features appear with the use of ImageMagick, libpng, libjpeg or XMedCon. Install the ImageMagick package or link your code with libpng and libjpeg to be able to load and save standard compressed image formats (GIF,BMP,TIF,JPG,PNG,...). Install the XMedCon package to be able to read DICOM medical image files. All these extra-tools are available for any platforms.
